Ok first off I would like to explain why I named this thread 10,000 votes.
Lets say Anet got in a financial situation to where they could not keep up the servers or continue to make expansions. I would like to know from at least 10,000 people if Anet ask you to pay a monthly subscription to play Guild Wars as it stands right now would you?

Guidelines to reply to this thread.

1.No flames plz or general discussion

2./signed = I would pay a monthly subscription for Guild Wars as it stands right now.

3./signed if = I would pay a monthly subscription for Guild Wars if (this or that) was changed.

4./not signed = I would not pay a monthly subscription because (please explain)

5.Only vote once please.

P.S. If a Guru Admin could make this a sticky please do so.

A lot of people claim they will ragequit GW after updates, but if this happened, most people seriously would. I fail to see why you even want to know this, since the a HUGE part of why GW is so successful is the "no subscription fee" business model, and they've repeatedly stated, "NO SUBSCRIPTION FEE EVER."

The game boxes and advertising campaigns boast that Guild Wars has no monthly fees and even though they can implement monthly fees if they wish, they'd have to scratch the "NO MONTHLY FEES" wording of all 3 of my GW boxes before I'd play again.

They have a business model which involves releasing new content every 6-12 months and the Online Store will be financing them quite well too. It has been a success so far and will be in the future.

I expect a persistant world to even justify a monthly fee... and quite frankly i no longer have time for games that require a monthly fee... id rather do without the pressure to play to get my money's worth thats when the game no longer is a game and begins to be a investment

It has to end sometime. I think that GW has shown enough promise that if it fails another game will take up the slack and learn from A.Net's mistakes. Just part of the evolution of games IMO.

I just ask to follow the rules of the post please.

And yes I know Guild Wars has said "NO SUBSCRIPTION FEE EVER.",but if you will look at your USER AGREEMENT section 5(c) you will see

(c) NC Interactive reserves the right to alter the fees payable for new Campaigns and/or Additional Features or introduce alternative fee structures for the Service. Any alteration to the purchase price will be posted on the Web Site at least 30 days prior to such alteration taking effect. If you do not agree to any such alteration, you should not purchase the new Campaign and/or Additional Features and/or you should terminate your Account prior to the date on which the alteration takes effect, otherwise the revised amount will automatically be debited to your Account.

look at the bold underlined part there is a change it could come to a monthly subscription.

As most people have already realized, EQ or WoW are better games then guild wars, and most people would rather play those if possilbe, though they would rather not be paying a monthly fee. thats why we play guild wars, because of the benefits

If a monthly fee was added, I'm gone. I will not pay to play other than purchasing the game.

/signed IF GW becomes a real mmorpg, like WoW, not a corpg it is now.
Otherwise I would quit GW if there is monthly fees, the only reason I chose GW over WoW.

Man this is the best online game I have ever payed and if they made it P2P that would suck so bad theres no way i can pay for it. And theres no way in the world my parents would pay for it either. Hopefully this game stays free forever lol.
